Emma was the fiancée of Alexander Hartdegen in the 2002 Film Timeline. She met an untimely death at the hands of a mugger, leading to Hartdegen's obsession with time travel. This lead to the creation of The Time Machine. ("The Time Machine (2002 Film)")
