The Intelligent Universe was a wholly-sentient, infinite universe, created by a number of Universal Constructors who traveled back through time to before the big bang, creating a new timeline in which the universe was filled with intelligent life from the very beginning. This universe is described as having each individual particle spinning with intelligence. The Time Traveler and Nebogipfel were aboard the Time Ships that created this timeline, and as such were witness to its creation. Both were then sent back to The Time Traveler's original timeline.
