Serpentine, or perhaps Serpentinus, was a man living in the 40th Century, a scientist. His exact field of specialization was either "atomic mechanician", or "Molecular Hybridizer", or perhaps sometimes "Physio-Chemist". ("The Time Machine: A Sequel")
